Brisbane Inner City Breweries

Felon’s Brewing Co, Howard Smith Wharves

On the edge of the Brisbane River and right under the Story Bridge, sit back and relax at the best seat in the house at award-winning brewery, Felon’s Brewing Co located at the buzzing Howard Smith Wharves precinct. Sit back with a high quality, flavoursome cold beer and casual bite, and soak in the stunning view and river breezes.

Stone & Wood, Fortitude Valley

The Byron Bay classic Stone & Wood, has opened an industrial-style micro-brewery in Fortitude Valley, serving up their all-time best as well as some limited-edition brews. Our tip - get a tasting paddle, as you’ll want to try them all.

Valley Hops Brewing, Fortitude Valley 

Crafting independent beer with character, join this crowd favourite for a brew. Catch the sun setting behind the skyline and the city lights glowing from Valley Hops Brewing’s alfresco rooftop brewery and bar, where you’ll find great live music, fresh cold beer, great food, and a booming nightlife.

Brewdog, Fortitude Valley 

Brewdog has expanded its Brisbane offering in an epic three-story bar where craft beer connoisseurs can rejoice. Claiming the spot as the world’s first carbon negative brewery, the beer haven has an epic range of beers spanning 20 taps including session-strength pale ales, lagers, imperial stouts, sours, ginger beer and shandies. Shuffleboards, pinball and farm-to-table junk food (50% plant based) are also on offer.

Soapbox Beer, Fortitude Valley 

Local, fresh, handcrafted beer can be found at this award-winning craft brewery, bar and kitchen in the industrial, relaxed warehouse which overlooks the working crafter beer brewery in the dedicated entertainment precinct of Fortitude Valley.

Sea Legs Brewing Co, Kangaroo Point 

Located under the Story Bridge at Kangaroo Point, Sea Legs is well versed in a good brew. Drop by this 15-hectolitre brewery for vibrant, fresh and authentic beer, to be enjoyed in a laidback atmosphere; the perfect place to enjoy a cold premise-brewed beer and good pubgrub eats. 

Range Brewing, Newstead 

One of the best in the business when it comes to Craft Beer, explore Range Brewing’s award-winning pale ales or fresh draught pours made on-site at its Newstead brewery. Pair a crisp, cold beer with a crispy, hot pizza made with artisan sourdough bases and a mouth-watering array of toppings.

Working Title Brew Co, Newstead 

Unapologetically bold and uncompromising brews in their own brick and mortar brew house, the eclectic taproom pushes the boundaries of local beer. Comparative to most brewhouses, things are done a little differently where there are no core ranges of beer, and experimenting with new malts, hops and ingredients, create unique one-of-a-kind flavours. The Asian-inspired eats are a crowd favourite, as well as the small-batch wines and arcade games.

Green Beacon Co, Teneriffe 

The multi-award winning brewpub, Green Beacon Co, offers great beer and cider, good food and fun atmosphere to sit and sip while watching the brewers do their thing. The industrial chic atmosphere and iconic brewery makes exceptional cold ones, with the tropical ale and IPA being the stuff of legends.

West Brisbane 

Newstead Brewing Co, Milton

Take a lofty steel warehouse, add a microbrewery, pub and restaurant and you’ve got Newstead Brewing Co. Conveniently located opposite Suncorp Stadium, this boutique brewpub has 12 taps on offer, with eight brews direct from the tanks. Feeling peckish? The kitchen pumps out gastropub feasts fit for their award-winning independent craft beers.

XXXX Brewery, Milton

Discover the magic of Queensland’s oldest and most iconic beer brands with a 90-minute tour to learn about the Brisbane brewery’s 140-year history and enjoy a guided three-beer tasting, cheers to the summer beer for all year!

Milton Common, Milton 

Combining good food, good beer and good times, Milton Common’s micro-brewery takes the cake. The home of Common Ground Brewing, they showcase a range of core brews of fresh, fruity tones and spicy notes, paired perfectly with their Korean-inspired meets Aussie-pub menu.

Caxton Street Brewing Co, Milton 

Caxton Street Brewing Co. is a community-focused venue built for good times. With beers made on site, of the four tanks, two are held with the concoction of small range core beers, while the others are dedicated to exploration and variations. The kitchen pumps on a collection of pubfood flavours paired perfectly with a cold one.

North Brisbane 

Brewtide Brewery, Albion

Brewtide is Albion’s enormous new craft-beer brewery, taphouse and creative cocktail bar with adjacent boutique bottle shop located with the new Craft’d Grounds precinct. There’s over 20 taps on site pouring the brewery’s own craft brews as well as championing local and independent brewers and distillers from across the country.

Happy Valley Brewing Co, Stafford

Micro craft brewery, Happy Valley Brewing Co is open from Wednesday through Sunday, pouring freshly brewed cold beers. With 16 rotating taps of gluten reduced craft beer, all brewed on site, there’s sure to be a flavoursome beer for you.

Hoppers Brewing Co, Albion

Located in Albion, Hoppers combines delicious, seasonal beverages with great vibes in a unique, cosy atmosphere to provide a place that can only be described as a home away from home. Although the bar might be small, Hoppers is pouring cold ones that you can spot being brewed right there in the warehouse behind the bar.

Archer Brewing, Wilston

Something fresh, something fruity, something zesty, something hoppy; whatever comes out of Archer Brewing, you can guarantee its core fleet of beers are 100% Australian made. Located in a landmark re-purposed World War II hangar, the aviation themed brewery produces easy-drinking beers, with in-house kitchen serving mouth-watering pub classics.

Other iconic North Brisbane breweries include; Aether Brewing and FICK Brewing Co at Northgate, Bravo Brewhouse at Chermside, Flat Lizard Brewing at Stafford, All Inn Brewing Co at Banyo and Hodfellows Brewery at Geebung.

South Brisbane

The Charming Squire, South Brisbane 

The Charming Squire Brewhouse is home to both the microbrewery and restaurant, Embers, and is the perfect spot for fine diners and pub feed lovers alike. The brewhouse offers share plates, burgers, pizzas, and a selection from the butcher’s block which is perfectly paired with a James Squire beer.

The Catchment Brewing Co, West End 

This stunning craft beer bar is delicately decorated in native flowers and greenery in this resorted art-deco space. Classic brews are drawn from the rich history and streetscape and pouring from the taps are in-house concoctions including a refreshing ale, flavoursome pale ale and rich IPAs, as well as other Australian craft beers on rotation.

Brisbane Brewing Co, Woolloongabba & West End 

Offering stunning drinking destinations, Brisbane Brewing Co in Woolloongabba and West End are a haven for beer lovers. When you're not making your way through the extensive beer selection, with seasonal and staple options available, there are cocktails and wines to try, and when your stomach starts to rumble, dive into the mighty menu of pub classics.

Slipstream Brewing Co, Yerrongpilly 

The passionate team brew all types of beer, but there’s a special place in their heart for hops. Taking inspiration from world-class brewpubs, the extensively renovated space allows diners to enjoy a meal and cold brew in full sight of the brewery.

Helios Brewing Co, Yeerongpilly 

In Greek mythology, Helios is the sun god, and Helios Brewing Co harnesses the sun’s power to sustainably create craft beer. The brewery also serves as a tap house, to try the variety of beers brewed on site, with local food trucks in attendance on weekends.

Lucha Brewing Co, Seventeen Mile Rocks 

Tucked away in a 1960’s industrial style warehouse, this gem of a community focused micro-brewery specialises in craft ales and great vibes.

Also South of Brisbane, you’ll find some of the best craft breweries scattered everywhere from the suburbs to industrial pockets. Among the line-up you’ll find The Brew Baron Beer Co and Easy Times Brewing Co in Woolloongabba, Future Magic Brewing Co in East Brisbane, Hiker Brewing Co and Ballistic Beer Co in Salisbury, and White Lies Brewing Co in Sumner.

East Brisbane

Brewdog Dogtap Brisbane, Murrarrie

Brewdog is a haven for craft beer and epic feeds on the river under Brisbane’s Gateway Bridge. The brewery’s OG Murarrie taproom serves 28 beers on tap and a menu it proudly describes as “farm-to-table junk food”. Its huge riverside patio is both dog and child-friendly and overlooks the Brisbane River. The brewery has also opened a second big venue in Fortitude Valley.

Revel Brewing Co, Bulimba & Morningside 

Pouring passion and flair into each frothy pint, Revel is renowned for its multi-award-winning independent craft and indie beers. Located at the buzzing Oxford Street Bulimba and Rivermakers at Morningside, Revel is home to over 20 taps, take a sip to experience a whirlwind of flavour and the extensive menu serves up pub favourites including wood-fired pizzas, steak, parmigiana, wings and burgers.

Hudson Brewing, Wynnum 

Just a stone's throw from the bay located in the industrial heart of Wynnum, is home to Hudson Brewing, a family operated and independent craft brewery serving fresh and quality brews for the beer lovers.

Further afield, Brisbane Regions 

A little further afield, just a short daytrip from the city, is home to an abundance of bespoke breweries in Brisbane’s stunning regions. Here’s where to cheers with a side of scenery.

Go north to the Moreton Bay Region and you’ll find some of Brisbane’s best craft breweries to entertain you during your stay. Quench your thirst at Brendale’s Hip Hops BrewersTannins Brew or Brendale Brewing Co, or sample the brewing varieties at Scarborough Harbour Brewing Co just down the road.

While exploring the City of Logan, make sure you save yourself the time to sample the regions beer focused endeavours. In Springfield, you’ll find Ballistic Beer where an array of 800 litre brewery setup has 20 specialty taps, each serving a wide range of craft beer styles and limited-edition brews. After something a little bespoke? Independently brewed, Perentie Brewing Co beers use traditional German lager brewing processes to produce an undoubtedly Australian tasting drop.

Rich in history, an abundance of luscious green space and foodie delights, head to Ipswich’s Stoney Creek Brewing where you won’t be disappointed in the delicious brews. Learn the art of brewing your own favourite beer with Ipswich Brew Co. They also stock a huge range of quality home brew products with expert advice.

Just a 20-minute drive from The City, awarding-winning micro-brewery, Bacchus Brewing Co, is located at Capalaba, in the Redlands Coast. Craft beer enthusiasts will be surprised and delighted with a deeper appreciation of craft beer, where over 170 new brews are crafted every year. Bacchus is renowned for producing a suite of interesting, diverse and distinct craft beer flavours, while also perfecting the classic brewing styles you know and love. Aside from spending your time exploring the Redlands Coast, just a short ferry ride will have you exploring the natural beauty of North Stradbroke Island/ Minjerribah, where your trip should include a visit to the iconic Straddie Brewing Co. for one of its specialty ales with a view.

The Scenic Rim is a foodie region brimming with homegrown ingredients and infused with a touch of country charm. Journey to Tamborine Mountain’s purpose-built Fortitude Brewing Co cellar door and brewery to try a paddle of beers from the brewery’s two labels – Fortitude and Noisy Minor.
