FAIRY TALES | 2 DEC - 28 APR
Reconnect with centuries-old stories at this exhibition that brings childhood tales to life through sculpture, drawing, film and design. Learn the origins of classics and the ever-present themes that make these stories so loved. Live out your own fairy tale dreams at QAGOMA this summer.

NEARLY MIDNIGHT | 16 JAN – 27 MAR
Feel like Cinderella amid Rachel Burke’s eye-catching, largescale works and enjoy themed drinks and bites from Brisbane Quarter restaurants to treat your taste buds and captivate your senses. Nearly Midnight will transform 300 George Street into an enchanted forest of shimmering blue and silver tinsel with a larger-than-life, two-metre-high sparkly slipper as the exhibit’s bedazzled mirrorball focal point.

BEAUTY & THE BEAST | 14 FEB – 14 APR
QPAC invites you to ‘be our guest’ for this remarkable recreation of a much-loved Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast. Enjoy this ‘tale as old as time’ as told through stunning set design, elaborate costumes and moving song and dance.

GASLIGHT THE PLAY | 20 FEB – 3 MAR
With all the hallmarks of Victorian Gothic, refreshed with intriguing new insights, Gaslight is a thrilling theatrical experience that you won’t want to miss in Brisbane this summer.

HIROMI TANGO AT MUSEUM OF BRISBANE | 2 MAR – 11 AUG
Hiromi invites visitors to create decorative flowers and foliage fashioned from upcycled textiles and foraged local materials inspired by the abundant blooms and buds found across Brisbane. Museum-goers can participate in facilitated hands-on workshops or simply wander in and engage in self-guided art activities to contribute to the budding public project.

Foodie Festivals

EVER AFTER HIGH TEA | 5 JAN – 24 APR
W Brisbane has launched a fairy-tale-themed high tea in celebration of QAGOMA’s ‘Fairy Tales’ exhibit. Guests can immerse themselves in a reimagined high tea at W Brisbane and indulge in delectable bites inspired by timeless tales of ‘once upon a times’ and ‘happily ever afters’.

MARGARITA WEEK | 22 FEB – 3 MAR
Howard Smith Wharves venues will be offering classics and unique twists on the salty-rimmed specialty, the margarita. Award-winning Chef Louis Tikaram from Stanley Restaurant will also be taking over the Main Lawn with a Margarita Week Pop Up food stall. Think creamy guacamole, Tijuana-style fish tacos, and golden fried churros with dulce de leche. Complete with entertainment across both weekends featuring The Kings Mariachi band plus piñatas and fun games for the kids, there’s something for everyone.

EAT LIKE A KING | 1 – 31 MAR
Whether you’re craving a snack or a feast, King Street’s month-long foodie celebration, Eat Like a King, has got you covered on all fronts. With special snack menus and full banquets on offer, there’s something for everyone at this delicious event.

JURASSIC WORLD BY BRICKMAN | 8 DEC – 13 JULY

WORLD SCIENCE FESTIVAL BRISBANE | 14 – 23 MAR
Luminaries of science from across the world present the beauty, complexity and importance of science through diverse, multidisciplinary programming and conversations at this stimulating event. engage in hands-on science, catch a rare glimpse of loggerhead turtles hatching, explore the interconnection between science and art, and more!

BRISBANE CYCLING FESTIVAL | 1 MAR – 14 APR
It's time to experience the largest multi-discipline cycling event in the number one cycling destination, Brisbane! From the elite right through to mass participation events there is something for every cyclist to experience with Brisbane Cycling Festival.

BRISBANE TO GLADSTONE YACHT RACE | 29 MAR – 1 APR
Queensland’s iconic 308 nautical mile Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race will set sail from Moreton Bay in what will mark the 76th edition for the mighty race. One of the most fiercely fought blue water yacht races in the southern hemisphere, take part in the action from Moreton Bay as the racing yachts set sail.

NRL MAGIC ROUND | 17 – 19 MAY
The NRL Magic Round returns to Suncorp Stadium in May to showcase the best of the NRL. Experience the action up close with 16 NRL teams going head-to-head over three days.
