Every Brilliant Thing

10 SEPTEMBER 2025

Redland Performing Arts Centre

If one had to make a list, where would they start?

Number 1 Ice cream, Number 2 Water fights, Number 5 Things with stripes, Number 25 Wearing a cap, Number 319 Laughing so hard milk shoots out of the nose, Number 9998 Watching someone watch their favourite film.

Every Brilliant Thing celebrates the small joys and moments of beauty that make life truly brilliant. The play tells the story of a child who, in an effort to help their depressed mother, starts compiling a list of everything that makes life worth living.

Twenty years and thousands of things later, the list will take on a life of its own. Be drawn into an astonishingly funny comedy about depression, gratitude and the lengths people go to for those they love.

Duncan Macmillan's poignant and uplifting interactive theatrical experience about family, love, loss and hope is directed by Timothy Wynn (Yielding, Kill Climate Deniers, Seawall) and stars Tom Yaxley (Boy Swallows Universe, Chroma Town).
