The Great Clay Throw: The Great Clay Throw: Forming Bowls on the Wheel

7 JUNE 2026

Carys Martin Ceramics

If you've already had a go on the pottery wheel and are ready to move beyond the beginner stage, this class is designed to help you refine your technique and learn how to create beautiful, functional bowls.

In this focused three hour session, you'll be guided through the full process of throwing bowls on the wheel - from centring and opening, to pulling even walls and shaping forms that feel balanced and intentional. You'll have your own wheel to work on, with plenty of one-on-one guidance to help you build confidence and consistency.

By the end of the class, you'll create three - four bowls. After the session, your best pieces will be trimmed, glazed, and fired, ready to be used and enjoyed.

Your finished, food-safe bowls will be available for collection in approximately three - four weeks.
