Formed in New Zealand in 1972 before relocating to Australia in 1975, Split Enz is widely regarded as one of the most important antipodean groups of the last 5 decades. The band's last live concert in New Zealand was on March 2008 at Vector Arena (now called Spark Arena) . Split Enz were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2005.

During their recording career Split Enz released a string of era-defining hits across the late '70s and early '80s including I Got You, I See Red, Message To My Girl, Six Months In A Leaky Boat, History Never Repeats, One Step Ahead, and so many more. Their Number 1, 1980 album release "True Colours", achieved multiple-platinum status in NZ and was certified 5 x platinum in Australia, selling over 250,000 copies.
