At the 18th Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival, world-class musicians play chamber music masterpieces at an intimate venue in the magnificent natural setting of Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).
This year, we are thrilled to welcome acclaimed mezzo-soprano Lotte Betts-Dean, celebrated for her compelling interpretations of contemporary repertoire, art song, and chamber music.
Also joining us from the UK are violinist Afonso Fesch and double bassist Margarida Castro, both making their Australian debut.
We also welcome cellist Jon Tooby from Western Australia, along with violist Sally Boud, returning for her third festival. Joining Sally on viola is long-time festival player Caroline Henbest from Melbourne. Another exciting debut comes from Melbourne-based violinist Anna McMichael.
Acclaimed Ukrainian-Australian pianist Sonya Lifschitz returns, alongside festival mainstay Stephen Emmerson, both exploring the richness and diversity of this year's piano repertoire. And this year's program would not be complete without the vibrant energy of flautist Tim Munro.
The program promises a rich and varied musical journey—from the elegance of the French Baroque to the lushness of Romanticism and striking colours of the 20th century.
The festival's six concerts will again all be held at the Point Lookout Community Hall.
Purchase a Gold Pass and enjoy three days of music on the island amid the winter sun, surf and humpback whales. Or go with individual concert tickets for a day trip with a difference!
