Exhibition Opening - Threads of Country: Totems, Time, and Transformation: Tomas & Christina Wolf

23 MARCH 2026

Obsidian Bide: Art Gallery and Studio

Obsidian Bide: Art Gallery and Studio proudly presents Threads of Country: Totems, Time, and Transformation, a powerful exhibition by artists Tomas and Christina Wolf, opening on Bribie Island.

Grounded in cultural memory, spiritual connection, and identity, this body of work explores the living relationship between self, spirit, and Country.

Tomas Wolf, a proud Nyoongar, Njunga and Pitjantjatjara Two-Spirit artist, weaves together ancestral knowledge, totemic guardianship, and contemporary expression through richly layered acrylic works on canvas. The exhibition brings together works that honour turtle, eagle, serpent, kangaroo, cockatoo and water dreamings - each piece carrying story, movement, and transformation.

Christina Wolf presents her first solo works alongside collaborative pieces, expanding the dialogue between tradition and personal journey. Together, their paintings form a ceremonial offering - a visual map of belonging that invites audiences to reflect on the invisible threads connecting identity, time, and place.

The official opening event on Monday 23 March, 5:30pm–7:30pm, will feature a short artist talk and an opportunity to meet the artists. Visitors are invited to experience the exhibition in an intimate gallery setting and engage directly with the stories and processes behind the works.

Obsidian Bide continues its commitment to showcasing culturally significant, community-connected exhibitions that contribute to regional arts tourism and creative dialogue.
