Logan City Symphony Orchestra - A New World of Music for Logan

25 JULY 2025

Logan Entertainment Centre

The Logan City Symphony Orchestra makes its grand debut in A New World of Music for Logan – a landmark moment in the cultural life of our city and a bold step forward in the evolution of orchestral music in the region. As the premier ensemble of Logan City Orchestras, the LCSO brings together outstanding musicians from across South East Queensland, united by a shared passion for performance, artistry, and community.

This inaugural concert is both a celebration and a signal: a celebration of the extraordinary local talent that already exists within Logan, and a signal of the many directions this orchestra will explore in the years to come. The program is as diverse as the city itself – blending classical elegance, lyrical drama, cinematic brilliance, and symphonic power.

The evening opens with Bernstein's effervescent Candide Overture, followed by two expressive concert arias by Mozart – È amore un ladroncello and Smanie implacabili – and Edward Elgar's deeply evocative Where Corals Lie, all featuring Logan's own mezzo-soprano Alla Yarosh.
