The Neon Signs are returning to light up Banshees for the first time since their sell out album launch in 2024. Joining them are June Low and The Highs and Clare Cowley and the Flames. Three of Brisbane's finest independent acts delivering a refined blend of indie rock and alternative country.
The Neon Signs' distinctive blend of Brizcore jangle and dark country illuminates the depths of human emotions - loss, uncertainty and wishful thinking. Their new single "Burning Sand" sees Simon Welchman's surf beats and Craig Covacich's catchy riffs set the scene for songwriter and guitarist Frank Henry's cautionary tale. The Neon Signs will be joined on stage by Melbourne guitarist Brendan Callen on bass and Mocara Kelly fresh from a tour of Ireland on violin and vocals.
Clare Cowley and The Flames, featuring Julia Bates, Skye McNicol and Kathryn McKee, accentuate the depth in Clare's songwriting. Their arrangements speak to audiences from the intimate corners of the globe to the bustling city.
June Low and The Highs are a Brisbane indie-rock four-piece with an impressive musical pedigree. Emma White's powerful vocals are perfectly complemented by Brian Mann's ability to capture the iconic indie guitar sound, together with Sean Clift's driving beats and Jane Elliot's mesmerizing bass and electric cello.
