Glowscape School Holiday Program

4 - 21 APRIL 2025

The Workshops Rail Museum

This autumn, the museum is glowing with Glowscape!

Think neon, fluorescent, and high-vis colours—brighter is better.

Families can explore arts-meets-STEM activities, designed for primary-age children. Enjoy hands-on fun with fluorescent materials, UV-reactive experiments, and bioluminescence.

Help create the giant Neon Power House mural in the Museum Studio, celebrating the building that once powered Ipswich's Rail Workshops. Wear fluoro or white clothes to join in the glowing fun!

In the Maker Space, try daily craft activities using fluorescent materials. Create art, collage, and experiment with negative space—then see your work glow under UV light.

Don't miss the Glow Boxes experiment! Watch objects dramatically change under UV light, or relax at Glow-themed Storytime, blending science, imagination, and storytelling. Perfect for young children, but all are welcome.

Older kids can join the Glowing Scorpion Workshop, making 3D scorpion automata while learning about scorpions' glowing powers. Tickets available online via QTIX.

End your day with a free Pyjama Party featuring Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. Screenings are free, but booking is required to avoid disappointment.
