Gugu Yalanji songman Jungaji is heading to It’s Still a Secret in South Brisbane on Friday 1st March to launch his new single Renaissance Rambler, a rollicking track that ramps up the beat from his soulful RnB flavoured releases that dropped last year (‘Wakka Wakka Woman’ and ‘Pilbara Man’ singles).
Supporting Jungaji and his rockin’ band on the night are the strings and stories of Suga Cane Mamas, the spellbinding groove of Gling Hunt, junior upstarts The Eatles , and Jameisha (which also features members of Jungaji’s band).
The song Renaissance Rambler speaks of an ongoing story of ancestors fighting for social justice and human rights for Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people which continues to this day, with Jungaji himself being a renaissance rambler who travels the country engaging in various intellectual and cultural pursuits while advocating for the well-being of Indigenous communities in Australia with a renewed commitment to the values of equality and cultural respect within the modern era.
