David Lean’s Brief Encounter in Concert

By arrangement with ITV Studios Global Entertainment, Park Circus Films and Southbank Centre, London.

The perfect date night, experience one of the greatest romantic films of all time on the big screen with a live symphony orchestra. Brief Encounter brought to fame Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2 with its lush emotional landscape.

David Lean’s iconic film traces the affair of a married doctor and suburban housewife who meet on a train platform. They inadvertently but quickly progress to an emotional love affair, which brings about unexpected consequences. “There was not a dry eye in the house, not least because of the eye-watering beauty of having the score freshly created in front of us as the movie rolled.”
