Grand Thai Pongal Festival 2027

Grand Thai Pongal Festival brings Tamil harvest traditions, arts and community celebrations to New Farm Park in Brisbane. Presented by Queensland Tamil Mandram and Thaai Tamil School, the festival welcomes local residents, families and visitors from all cultural backgrounds.

Pongal celebrates gratitude for the harvest and the contribution of farmers. The planned programme includes cultural performances, workshops, stalls, competitions and a community parade, offering visitors a chance to discover Tamil traditions and join in the celebrations.

Set in a public park, the festival brings people together through shared cultural experiences and provides an opportunity to connect with Queensland's Tamil community.
