Brisbane Writers Festival

29 MAY - 2 JUNE 2024

State Library of Queensland

As Australia’s oldest continuous writers’ festival, BWF has a long and storied history of connecting communities, showcasing creativity and finding just the right words.

Each year, they welcome thousands of readers and writers to Brisbane’s beautiful South Bank to celebrate books, spark ideas and start conversations. With a diverse program of author panels, speeches, performances and more – including the Word Play and Love YA programs for younger readers – BWF has a story for everyone.

In 2024, Brisbane Writers Festival is spinning a rollicking tale of festive entertainment across five days, four nights and more than 100 events. The plot? Full of twists and turns. The characters? A diverse cast of writers, readers and thinkers coming together to enjoy a lively line-up of panel discussions, salons, special events and more.

From blockbuster bestsellers to literary luminaries and everything in between, BWF 2024 is an unmissable adventure from beginning to end.
