Voices Behind The Seams

15 MAY 2026

Red Box, State Library of Queensland

Do you know who made your uniforms, PPE, and clothing?

Join in for Voices Behind the Seams, a live storytelling event featuring the hidden workers and outworkers of Australia's textile, clothing, and footwear industry.

In their own words, they'll share personal journeys, the pride they take in their craft, and the realities of working behind the seams. Through guided conversation, the evening will explore craftsmanship, the challenges workers face, and hopes for the future of the industry.

This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from the skilled people who make the garments we wear, and whose voices are too often unheard.
