30 - 31 DECEMBER 2024

South Bank Parklands

Usher in the new year with a kaleidoscope of colour at The Lord Mayor’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks.

Held at South Bank Parklands the evening features two free fireworks shows, 7:45pm and midnight.

The best viewing locations are Clem Jones Promenade, the Cultural Forecourt, Riverside Green and River Quay.

South Bank retailers will be open with takeaway food and there will be food vendors on the Cultural Forecourt. You are welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages into the Parklands. Prohibited items include metal cutlery and other sharp items, drink bottles and unsealed lids (including bottles of water or soft drink), scooters, bikes, pets, glass, marquees and any large portable structures.

South Bank Parklands will be an alcohol-free site on the day. Alcohol consumption is only permitted within licensed restaurant or bar venues.

Public transport is the best mode of transport. Use Translink’s website to plan ahead. Free travel will be available on Translink buses, trains and ferries from 8pm on 31 December 2024 to 5:30am on 1 January 2025.

Works will impact the Beenleigh and Gold Coast train lines over this period. Visit Cross River Rail’s website for information.

There will be road closures in and around the area, subject to change if required to maintain event safety. This information will be available on the Brisbane City Council community services announcements page.
