The Queensland Figurative is a non-acquisitive art competition that celebrates the dynamic role of the human figure in visual art.

Open exclusively to artists residing in Queensland, this competition showcases paintings where the human form is not merely present but clearly integrated into, and an important part of the overall composition of the work—whether through literal depictions or more abstract interpretations.

They are delighted to announce that 2025 Archibald Prize Winner Julie Fragar will be judging this year's Queensland Figurative. The exhibition will be on show at RQAS Petrie Terrace Gallery from Thursday, 9th April to Sunday, 10th May, 2026.

Free entry- Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 3:30pm at Petrie Terrace Gallery.
