Outdoor Dance Classes with Bring A Plate Inclusive Dance Company

13 JUNE 2022 - 5 JUNE 2023

Entrance to Gallery of Modern Art

An outdoor dance class for everyone where all bodies are welcomed and celebrated. Never been to a dance class but always wanted to? This class is for you! Skip the sweaty, mirror-filled studio for the great outdoors and dance in Brisbane's arts precinct out the front of GOMA. On arrival, you will be greeted by a Bring A Plate facilitator who will be there to settle any pre-class jitters or nerves. After a gentle stretch, you will be guided with beginner-friendly follow-along grooves to warm up. Now it's time to boogie - you will learn a short and fun choreography with the group to a different local and international musical track each week. If timing and left and rights are not your thing - it doesn't matter! The focus here is not on the counts but on a good time.

Bring A Plate Inclusive Dance Company are a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to changing the perception of who can dance, where to dance and how to dance in Australia. For four years, they have been running weekly community dance classes in South East Queensland and regularly perform and run workshops at events and festivals. With facilitators hailing from all works of life, with a broad range of experience in creative art therapies, human services, and movement.
