Make a Camera Obscura

20 SEPTEMBER - 6 OCTOBER 2025

Museum of Brisbane

Join in for a hands-on adventure where you'll transform a simple cardboard box into your very own camera obscura!

In this fun, hour-long workshop, you'll dive into the basics of optics with a demonstration on how light works. Then, the real fun begins – you'll build your own camera box and personalise it with colourful washi tape, stickers, and all sorts of creative decorations.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have a unique, functional camera obscura to take home – plus the skills to impress your friends with your new understanding of light and images!
