Lucy Culliton - Ekka

5 - 23 AUGUST 2025

Jan Murphy Gallery

Jan Murphy Gallery presents, Ekka, by Lucy Culliton, her fifth solo exhibition with the gallery.

Lucy rarely travels, partly because she is in the studio everyday, but also because she has a lot of animals requiring her attention at home. Lucy makes an exception for her annual trip to be the artist-in-residence at Sydney's Royal Easter Show, and in August 2024 she made the trip further North to experience Brisbane's famous Ekka show.

A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, Culliton was recognised in a major survey at Mosman Art Gallery in 2014. Her work is held in the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Macquarie Bank and Parliament House collections. She is a regular exhibitor in leading public awards, winning the 2006 Portia Geach Memorial Award. Culliton is a regular finalist in the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes at the Art Gallery of NSW.
