The fairies of FernGully have only heard about humans in stories, and don't believe they exist. Young and adventurous Crysta, yearning to explore more of the world decides to travel beyond the borders of her magically protected home to discover the truth for herself. Not only are humans still around, they have begun logging the forest that borders her home, threatening to expose Hexxus, an ancient evil that the fairies had imprisoned long ago.

Crysta teams up with Zak, a logger she had shrunk to save from a falling tree, and the two team up to stop the logging company before Hexxus can rise and take revenge on the fae folk that imprisoned him.

Set in the ancient and breathtaking Gondwana rainforests in Northern NSW, FernGully offers a rare portrait of homegrown whimsy and adventure set right on our doorstep.
