A Night at the Museum

23 MAY 2025

Queensland Museum Kurilpa

A Night at the Museum returns with exclusive afterhours access to Queensland Museum Kurilpa, including the stunning Discovering Ancient Egypt exhibition that explores the daily life and afterlife of one of history's most fascinating civilisations. Be transported to Ancient Egypt with over 250 important artefacts on display as well as projection-mapped animations telling the story of the Temple of Taffeh.

A Night at the Museum offers a changing itinerary of family-friendly activities to take part in across the night:

Feel the beat with drop-in Egyptian drumming workshops with percussionist and Joyful Drumming Workshop founder Adel Amin.
Celebrate National Archaeology Week and uncover hidden artifacts in our simulated archaeological excavation dig pit.
Talk to real-life Egyptologist Serena Love as you explore Discovering Ancient Egypt with our Eye Spy booklet.
Fold your own origami pyramidion next to the pyramidion!
Learn about the world around us from our experts in the Discovery Centre.

In addition, budding scientists can investigate SparkLab, our interactive centre for science, curiosity and design that is the perfect place to play, experiment and test ideas. And for dinosaur fans, our Dinosaurs Unearthed: Explore Prehistoric Queensland exhibit adventures into the prehistoric world.
