Sharon Elaine | Minnie Rumble Duo
Trumpeter, flugelhornist, and vocalist Sharon Elaine teams up with pianist Minnie Rumble to deliver an exciting mix of straight-ahead jazz, bebop, and original works. Their duo highlights the chemistry between two emerging voices in the Australian jazz scene, offering performances that are intimate, dynamic, and fresh.
Sharon, a graduate of the Jazz Music Institute, studied under Dan Quigley and has performed on stages including the Sydney Opera House, Byron Bay Bluesfest, and Woodford Folk Festival. She has collaborated with artists such as Nicki Parrott, James Morrison, and Tijuana Cartel, and is currently active in projects including the Unladylike Big Band, The Scornful Four, and TYDE. Minnie, completing her final year at JMI, has studied under Brisbane jazz legends Paula Girvan, Nick Hunter, and Graeme Norris, as well as Sydney pianists Aaron Blakey and Wilbur Whitta. Influenced by Red Garland, Erroll Garner, and Barry Harris, she has performed at venues and festivals including QPAC Piano Bar, The Bearded Lady, Grape Grazing by Night, and Laneway Live.
