Meltwater Pulse is the electronic and ambient pseudonym of pianist/producer Steve Newcomb, blending improvisation, live looping, electronics, and straight-up cinematic-anthemic pop.
The project’s direction has grown out of explorations in his other duo with drummer Isaac Cavallaro, STAC, and now expands into a broader collaborative space. Vocalist and regular core contributor April Rawlins brings ethereal singing, a silken voice, and heart-warming interpretations enhanced with live processing, helping shape the project’s immersive sound world. Rooted in jazz, experimental music, and electro-pop, MeltWater Pulse creates spontaneous real-time performances where synths, samples, voice, and groove converge in bold and unexpected ways.
