Blending straight-ahead jazz with a taste for hot jazz and prohibition blues, Melody Graves is a unique voice in Meanjin’s jazz scene, with a style that is both fresh and familiar – and if you closed your eyes, you just might think you were listening to an old gramophone record.
Inspired by the sounds of New Orleans, small combos and big band swing, Melody Graves is backed by some of Brisbane’s most talented jazz musicians who deliver a hot and vibrant take on early jazz and blues, fusing traditional sounds with a fresh, dynamic energy.
