Meanjin/Brisbane-based Maddison Kate has an enchanting voice, singing the songs of old souls. She brings raw emotion to the hearts of her audience through sweeping folk melodies and earthy tones. Known for her introspective, poetic songwriting, she explores the truths of the human experience and seeks to build connection through her music.
Maddison has played at renowned festivals such as Gympie Music Muster and Queensland Music Festival. In 2024, she was crowned winner of the Tamworth Country Music Festival’s 2TM Discovered Competition and named runner-up in the Ekka’s Country Music Showdown. Likened to folk legend Joni Mitchell by none other than INXS’s Andrew Farriss, Maddison Kate is a rising voice in the Australian folk scene and a storyteller to watch.
