AdventureFest: Mick, the Camp Oven Cook

19 MAY 2026

Capalaba Library

Join Mick "The Camp Oven Cook" Viller for a fascinating AdventureFest presentation exploring the rich tradition of camp oven cooking!

Though Mick is known for his live bush-cooking demonstrations, this time he'll light up Capalaba Library with his unique stories, imagery, props and practical insights instead of a campfire and coals.

From the history of camp ovens to modern outdoor cooking culture, this special session for AdventureFest offers a behind-the-scenes look at how simple ingredients, cast iron and shared knowledge bring people together.
