Redcliffe Jetty

Redcliffe Jetty is an iconic part of the Redcliffe peninsula landscape since its construction in 1885! Over the years it has been used as the backdrop for many 'Redcliffe selfies' by both tourists and locals alike.

The jetty is a popular spot to catch the sunrise and the perfect place to take in the sparkling views across the bay and the peninsula. Between June and October keep your eyes open for the visiting whales that play in the bay. Cast a line and enjoy a day of relaxed fishing, with a rich supply of whiting waiting for the dinner plate. Bait is available for purchase along Redcliffe Parade.

The jetty has been a work in progress since first built in 1885. After falling into disrepair, a second jetty was completed in 1922. It housed a halfway house which was transformed into an entertainment parlour, Penny Arcade in 1938, which was frequented by the young Bee Gees brothers. This second wharf was not the end of the Redcliffe's love affair with jetty construction. By 1961 this second jetty had also deteriorated and was eventually ripped down and replaced, opening in 1999, with the third and current Redcliffe Jetty which we know today.
