The Ipswich Central Public Art Trail invites you to explore the city centre as an open-air gallery, where bold murals, striking sculptures and contemporary public artworks bring the streets of Ipswich to life.
This self-guided walking trail showcases a growing collection of public art created by local, national and internationally recognised artists. From large-scale murals to sculptural and Indigenous works, each piece shares a story - reflecting creative expression, cultural identity and a deep connection to place.
Most of the artworks are located throughout Ipswich Central, including the historic Top of Town precinct, where heritage buildings sit alongside quirky cafés, independent shops and creative spaces. It's an easy and rewarding way to experience Ipswich's creative energy while soaking up the character of the city.
To get the most from your visit, use the Ipswich Trails web app to guide your walk. The app helps you navigate the trail and learn more about each artwork and artist along the way, adding deeper insight to the experience.
Please note that some artworks are privately owned and maintained. Parts of the trail include uneven paths and road crossings, so visitors are encouraged to stay alert and take responsibility for their own safety.
