THE CITY SOUNDS

City Sounds is Australia's largest and longest-running free live music program, introducing fresh bands and artists to Brisbane City audiences every week.

With original, alternative, indie, folk, jazz and electronic music, there’s something for every music lover. And best of all, it's completely free!

City Sounds transforms Brisbane’s ordinary urban spaces into music venues including Queen Street Mall, Post Office Square, Reddacliff Place and other pop-up locations in The City.

About City Sounds

The program houses a weekly roster of emerging and established artists, many of whom have gone on to become national and international stars.

We’ve been fortunate to invite Brisbane pop-rockers Ball Park Music, Sheppard and Last Dinosaurs, plus local folk-pop songstresses Kate Miller-Heidke and Dami Im (both Eurovision stars) to make music on our stages in the City Centre.

Over the past 60 years, Brisbane has produced some of the most influential musicians in Australia – from ‘60s pop music icons The Bee Gees and legendary ‘70s punks The Saints to ‘80s indie rockers The Go-Betweens and ‘90s rock powerhouse Powderfinger.

Whether you seek out the stage or stumble upon a gig while shopping in The City, there’s a City Sounds experience to put a smile on everyone's face.
