Walk to King Island

One of Wellington Point's best-known attractions comes and goes with the tide, so catch it if you can. A one-kilometre sandbar emerges across the bay, linking the mainland with King Island and inviting visitors to stroll across the golden sand to this beautiful conservation park. Wander the island's mangrove-lined tracks, dip your toes in the shallows and keep an eye out for local wildlife before making the trip back to shore.

Stretching out into the Moreton Bay waters, the jetty is a hub for recreational fishing, with locals regularly casting a line from its timber boards. Find your favourite picnic spot

A takeaway bundle of fish and chips tastes even better by the water, and with plenty of options along Main Road, you are spoilt for choice. Take your pick and head to Wellington Point Recreation Reserve, grab a spot in the grass and spread out beneath the fig trees, while the nearby playground and low-tide shoreline are some fun for the little ones. If you're lucky, you might even spot a few blue soldier crabs scurrying across the sand while you eat!

Celebrating the farming heritage of the Redlands Coast, Wellington Point Farm is one of the very few remaining operational market garden farms in Redland City. Home to Farmhouse Restaurant and Coffee Shop, where pastries and coffee are served daily, while the fully licensed restaurant showcases produce grown on-site and sourced throughout Queensland.
