Self-Guided Tours

If you’re an independent explorer or you simply want some flexibility around your visiting times, why not take yourself on a self-guided tour of Roma Street Parkland?

Each month, Roma Street Parkland’s volunteer guides prepare a leaflet to spotlight interesting specimens in the parkland, the Remarkable Plants Guide, including a special self-guided map which will take you on a journey around the parkland showcasing fabulous flowers, fruit or foliage!

Guided Tours

Visitors can select from FREE themed guided tours including Spectacle Garden in Colin Campbell Place, overall Roma Street Parkland, and Bush Tucker and the Rainforest.

Bush Tucker & The Rainforest
Uncover the secrets of native Australian plants on this free, volunteer-led tour through the rainforest. Learn how First Nations peoples have used bush tucker for food, medicine, and culture. Expect fascinating stories, surprising facts, and a deeper connection to the land.

Parkland Highlights Tour
Step through time on a journey from rail yard to world-class subtropical parkland. This free tour reveals Roma Street Parkland’s incredible transformation, with stories of history, design, and community spirit shared by passionate volunteers.

Spectacle Garden in Colin Campbell Place
Immerse yourself in a vibrant explosion of colour and texture on this free garden tour. Discover seasonal blooms, lush foliage, and eye-catching design elements as our expert volunteers unveil the hidden gems of this horticultural haven.

Make a Booking

Tours are free however pre-registration is required to attend. Please visit the Roma Street Parkland Oztix page for more tour information and to make a booking.

Group Bookings

Roma Street Parkland’s knowledgeable volunteer guides can also be booked for private group tours. Groups can reserve Celebration Vista, our group meeting point fitted with a kitchenette, picnic tables and seating to enjoy morning or afternoon tea before or after your tour, and tour coach parking can also be arranged for the duration of your visit.

Groups can also make a booking at The Garden Room, our onsite café. Visit The Garden Room website for more details or to make a booking. 

To book your guided group tour, please complete our booking form and email it to [email protected] at least two weeks prior to your proposed visit. Please note, we require 24 hours’ notice to cancel your visit. Call 1300 137 468 as soon as possible, if you need to cancel.
