Drop in to the Celebration Lawn from 9am–1pm, Wednesday 8–Friday 10 April and Wednesday 15–Friday 17 April, where the main program is completely free. Kids can explore Cardboard City, a hands-on craft zone where they can build houses, schools, cars – or anything their imagination dreams up. Creations can be taken home or added to the park’s ever-growing city. Each day also features movement focused activities, from hip hop dance with Mad Dance House to Touch Football with Billy’s Buddies and AFL with Physi Kids. Bookings are not required for the free program – just turn up and play. 

For families looking to add a little extra, low-cost bookable workshops are available for $12 per child - tickets will be available to book on this page soon! In the first week, kids can get hands-on in Meet the Bees with Bee One Third, learning about the buzzing friends who help gardens thrive. The second week features The Great Bug Hotel Build in partnership with Yates Australia, where children tour the Children’s Garden, discover why beneficial bugs are the unsung heroes of the garden, and create their very own bug hotel to take home.

AFL with Physi Kids - Free
Get ready to kick, pass and have fun with AFL Fun at Playtopia. Run by the team at Physi Kids, kids can join free, hands-on sessions to practice their football skills, learn teamwork and enjoy active games designed for all levels. Recommended for ages 5+.

Meet the Bees with Bee One Third - Ticketed
Explore the Roma Street Honeybee hives in an intimate, behind-the-scenes experience with beekeeper Jack from Bee One Third. Learn about the tools, techniques and signs beekeepers look for as Jack and his team carefully open the hives and search for the queen bee. Taste honey straight from the hive and enjoy a flavour as fresh as the seasonal blossoms.

Sessions run from Wednesday 8 to Friday 10 April at 9am, 10am, 11am and 12pm and go for 50 minutes. Tickets cost $12 per child and you get to take home a jar of honey! Suitable for kids aged 5-12.
