The City:
The best dog-friendly places

There’s no need to leave your pup at home, you and your best mate can explore The City together, with plenty of dog-friendly activities to enjoy. From scenic riverside strolls to puppuccinos at hip cafés, there’s no shortage of treats awaiting you both in Brisbane City.

01. Stroll along the Riverwalk

A scenic stroll along the picturesque Riverwalk is a must-do Brisbane activity and one that your pup will adore. Stretching the length of The City and beyond, you can truly choose your own adventure during this riverside wander with views of the Brisbane River, Story Bridge and City skyline.

02. Beers at Riverbar

With a shaded outside area, Riverbar & Kitchen on Eagle Street welcomes pups on a leash to hang with their owners riverside. Whilst you sit and enjoy cold brews and classic bites, there are water bowls on hand for your canine companion to also stay hydrated.

03. Coffee at The Croft House

The Croft House Town Kitchen & Bar on Charlotte Street is loved by patrons and pups alike for its dog-friendly amenities. Take a seat in the shaded outdoor dining area, where your dog can enjoy a water bowl while you tuck into all-day favourites like smashed avo and feta, homemade granola, or spinach and ricotta ravioli.

04. Luxe getaway at W Brisbane

You and your fur baby can both enjoy five-star luxury at W Brisbane through its Pets Are Welcome program, which includes a range of dog-friendly amenities. Your canine companion (up to 18kg), will receive a custom pet bed, clean-up bags, toys and treats, food and water bowls, and more. The W Brisbane team can also share nearby dog parks and specialty pet stores, helping you and your pooch make the most of your City stay.

05. Picnic in the City Botanic Gardens

Pack a picnic blanket, grab a takeaway coffee and let your pup enjoy a leafy outing in the City Botanic Gardens. Set beside the Brisbane River, this inner-city green space is perfect for a relaxed stroll, shady rest stop or weekend picnic with your fur-baby by your side. Keep them on a leash as you wander the pathways, then find a patch of grass to pause, people-watch and soak up one of The City’s most peaceful pockets.

06. To market, to market

Brisbane City’s outdoor markets make it easy to enjoy a weekend outing with your dog by your side. Spend Sunday browsing stalls, enjoying alfresco brunch and listening to live music at Riverside Markets in the City Botanic Gardens or visit the Cathedral Square on a Thursday for pet friendly stalls - though it can get busy, so keep your pup close and comfortable.

07. Ride the River

Get a dog’s-eye view of The City from the river, with up to two pets allowed to travel with you across Brisbane’s CityCat and ferry network. Dogs can enjoy the breeze from the external passenger areas and travel during off-peak times.

Just remember, The City is a busy place, so keep your dog on a leash at all times and clean up after them. Dogs can be walked on most streets, but they are not permitted in Queen Street Mall.
